Zimbabwe safari guide - information

Zimbabwe, located in Southern Africa and is bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique.

Formerly the British protectorate of Southern Rhodesia, the Republic of Rhodesia and Zimbabwe Rhodesia, Zimbabwe adopted its new name upon independence on the 18 April 1980. Today Zimbabwe who was only a few years ago on of the top African travel destination battles with out of control inflation and a few other factors that we all know but won't discuss here.

In all honesty, the only place still worth visiting on a Zimbabawe Safari is the mighty Victoria Falls.

Other destinations:

* Hwange National Park
* Lake Kariba
* Mana Pools National park
* Matopos National Park
* Zambezi River (any where)

Getting into Zimbabwe:

* By Air - This is where it start getting depressing, I am going to have to say rather fly into Zambia

* By Road - Not advised due to shortage of fuel.

English is widely spoken by everybody when in Zimbabwe and this Zimbabwe safari guide.

Health:

Malaria is found in all regions of Zimbabwe, so please please (and a pretty please) precautions need to be taken. Higher infection rates of Malaria occur in summer, but on saying that you can still get infected in winter.

The AIDS/ HIV infection rate of Zimbabwe is estimated at +35%, this is purely estimated and has not been correctly updated for the past few years. Please be responsible when on Zimbabwe safari.
